Barber Shot Dead at His Shop in Commodore, St Catherine

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A routine Saturday night turned deadly in Commodore, St Catherine, after gunmen invaded a barbershop and opened fire, killing the operator and injuring an elderly customer.
Dead is 51-year-old Andrew Richards, otherwise called “Killer,” the owner of the barbershop.
The second victim, an 81-year-old man from a Linstead address, remains hospitalised.
According to police reports, about 10:15 p.m., Richards was inside his business establishment when unknown assailant(s) entered and rained gunfire, striking both him and the elderly man.
Residents rushed the injured men to the Linstead Hospital, where Richards was pronounced dead, while the senior citizen was admitted in serious condition.
Detectives say no motive has yet been established for the brazen attack.
The Linstead Criminal Investigation Branch has since launched a probe.
