Uzi Submachine Gun Seized in Kingston East Raid

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police in the Kingston East division scored a major weapons bust this morning after seizing a cache of high-powered ammunition and an Uzi submachine gun during an operation on Thompson Avenue.

 

The early-morning sweep turned up one Uzi submachine gun, three Uzi magazines, three Glock pistol magazines, one AK rifle magazine, twelve 12-gauge cartridges, one 5.56 round, and one .45 round.

 

Despite the significant find, no arrests were made, and investigators are now working to trace the origin of the weapon and ammunition.

 

Police say operations will continue across the division as they push back against the movement of illegal guns in the area.
