Jamaica Gleaner | 2025-12-01 | Original Article

A 63-year-old Westmoreland farmer has been charged with murder in connection with the killing of another man whose body was discovered with chop wounds in Mooreland Hill last month.

Charged is Glenroy Campbell, otherwise called ‘Mass Ron’, of Treve Road, Mango Hall district.

He is accused of killing 60-year-old Wayne Robinson, otherwise called ‘Rub Rub’, of Old Road, Mooreland Hill, the police said in a statement on Monday.

According to the police, Robinson was last seen alive around 10:30 p.m. on October 9.

The following morning, residents found his body behind his house and alerted the police. He had multiple chop wounds to the neck and head.

The scene was processed and the body later removed to the morgue pending a post-mortem.

After investigations, Campbell was identified as the primary suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was taken into custody on November 27, during a police operation at his home.

Police say he was formally charged following a recorded statement implicating him.

A court date is being finalised.
