KINGSTON, Jamaica — Toll collection on the Phase 1C segment of the PJ Patterson Highway, spanning May Pen to Williamsfield, has been delayed, officials confirmed. The toll was originally scheduled to start on December 1, 2025.

In a recent notice, the highway operators said a new launch date will be provided once all operational details are finalised.

“We will announce the new date as soon as all details are confirmed. Thank you for your patience,” the notice read.

Preparations at the toll plazas are intensifying, with heavy pre-operational activities underway to ensure systems are fully ready when the highway officially opens. Motorists travelling through the area are being urged to exercise caution, reduce speed, and approach toll plazas at 50 km/h or less.

Once operational, the May Pen to Williamsfield leg is expected to significantly reduce travel time across central Jamaica. Authorities say a new start date for toll collection will be announced in the coming weeks.
