ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Residents in parts of St Elizabeth were shaken from their sleep early Monday morning after a minor earthquake rattled the parish.
According to a preliminary report from the Earthquake Unit, the tremor struck at 2:24 a.m. on December 1, registering a magnitude of 3.1.
The quake’s epicentre was located near Goshen, St Elizabeth, at a focal depth of 10 kilometres, officials said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries linked to the early-morning shake.
The Earthquake Unit continues to monitor the activity.
