A labourer from St Catherine has been charged after police allegedly found a firearm and ammunition during an early-morning operation at his Crackers Lane premises in Spanish Town on November 24.

He is 32-year-old Richard Henry, otherwise called ‘Chardo.’

The Spanish Town police say a team on operation searched Henry's home about 1:50 a.m.

During the search, a Taurus G3C pistol and a magazine containing seven 9mm cartridges were reportedly found.

The weapon and ammunition were seized.

Henry was taken into custody and later charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
