Kingston, Jamaica — The Miss Universe Organization has provided an update on the condition of Miss Jamaica Universe 2025, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, following her fall off the stage during the preliminary evening gown round in Thailand last month.
The organization said Henry suffered a serious fall through an opening on stage on November 19, resulting in an intracranial hemorrhage, loss of consciousness, facial lacerations, fractures, and other significant injuries. She was immediately admitted to intensive care in Bangkok, where she remained under constant neurological monitoring and requires 24-hour specialist supervision.
The Miss Universe Organization confirmed that Henry will soon return to Jamaica with a full medical escort team and will be transferred directly to hospital for continued treatment and recovery.
The organization stressed it has assumed full responsibility, covering all medical, hospital, and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as accommodation for Henry’s mother and sister, who remained by her side. They also pledged to cover all future medical costs related to the incident.
Addressing media reports that suggested Henry may have contributed to her fall, the organization called such claims “entirely inaccurate” and stated that it never attributed blame to the contestant. This comes after Miss Haiti 2025, Melissa Sapini, said a pageant staff member initially suggested the fall was Henry’s fault.
The Miss Universe Organization said it has stood “beside Gabrielle and her family as if she were their own” throughout the ordeal.
