A 37-year-old man was acquitted of multiple sex offences in the Supreme Court on Friday, after the jury returned a verdict of not guilty.
The accused had been charged with indecent assault, grievous sexual assault, and rape.
His trial began on October 22, before Justice Sonia Bertram Linton.
The prosecution presented evidence alleging that between 2019 and 2021, the accused sexually assaulted the sister of his child’s mother.
Attorney-at-Law Sayeed Bernard represented the accused man.
The defence reportedly contended that the prosecution's case was affected by several discrepancies that raised doubts about the man's connection with the alleged crimes.
