Police probing shooting and robbery attempt in St Andrew

Police are investigating a daring early morning shooting and robbery attempt along Oxford Road on Wednesday.

 

Explosions were reportedly heard about 8:50 a.m., and men seen running away from the scene.

 

An eyewitness said one of the suspects made good his escape at a nearby apartment building.

 

When the news team arrived, a Toyota Hiace bus, believed to have been the target of the attackers, and another minivan were seen disabled along the roadway.

 

Motorists are being advised to expect delays along the usually busy corridor.

 

A security guard who works nearby said, “People afi vigilant this time of year... a pure robbery and dem thing deh gwan.”
